Carole Devereux founded Animal Insights in dedication to the advancement of animal welfare through the practice of animal communication, holistic healing, and humane education. Our goal is to become a global resource for all who seek expert guidance in these areas.

We are devoted to raising human consciousness to consider and acknowledge the contributions animals have made to human cultural experience as well as social and economic development throughout the world. We recognize animal-assisted therapy, telepathic interspecies communication, holistic healing, Reiki, TTouchTM, Insight meditation and the practice of indigenous spirituality, i.e., shamanism, in combination with private counseling as the core practices for which consultations, seminars, workshops, nature camps, healing circles, and skill building youth groups will be the focus of our attention.

We promote the development of equal partnership for humans, nonhumans, and diverse wild habitats, as we create and enjoy positive values and actions for animals based on the goal of peace, love, joy and compassion.

We welcome you to the "art of healing" by exchanging feelings and ideas with nonhuman species. Within these pages you will begin to learn how to build your own confidence and ability to meditate and communicate with animals and other species in nature. While uniting in heart and mind with them you can increase your capacity for love and compassion, and begin to enjoy unlimited creativity.

In my biography, various articles and the NEW Animal Insights Digest, you will learn about my animal friends and equine spiritual mentors, Buddy and Ellie. They are master teachers who, in their own way, have taught thousands of students about the healing power of love.

My business is consulting, writing, publishing, teaching and creating visions for a new and better world. I conduct Animal Communication workshops, teach privately, conduct in-person and telephone consultations, and am engaged in writing a book about my work with animals called Spirit of the Horse.

I conduct practice groups at my home at Highland Retreat in La Center, Washington, and provide information to help people and animals begin their journey of spiritual interspecies communication.

Upcoming events and new discoveries I have made while helping others understand their animals will be posted on this website. You will gain a deeper understanding of your animals as you learn to "listen" to what they are trying to tell you.

If you are interested in attending a workshop, would like to schedule a telephone or in-person reading, or would like to Sponsor a class in your area, please check the links on this page. You also may order a copy of the Animal Insights Quarterly Digest , and become a member of a circle of friends working to promote healing for the Earth, the animals and humanity.

Please bookmark our site and stay "tuned in."

The following is an excerpt From Black Elk Speaks by John Neihardt.

I highly recommend this book for all beginning students on the spiritual path of interspecies communication.

"Then the two men spoke together and they said: "Behold him, the being with four legs!"

I looked and saw a bay horse standing there, and he began to speak: "Behold me!" he said. "My life history you shall see." Then he wheeled about to where the sun goes down, and said: "Behold them! Their history you shall know."

I looked, and there were twelve black horses yonder all abreast with necklaces of bison hoofs, and they were beautiful, but I was frightened, because their manes were lightning and there was thunder in their nostrils.

Then the bay horse wheeled to where the great white giant lives (the north) and said: "Behold!" And yonder there were twelve white horses all abreast. Their manes were flowing like a blizzard wind and from their noses came a roaring, and all about them white geese soared and circled.

Then the bay wheeled round to where the sun shines continually (the east) and bade me look; and there twelve sorrel horses, with necklaces of elk's teeth, stood abreast with eyes that glimmered like the daybreak star and manes of morning light.

Then the bay wheeled once again to look upon the place where you are always facing (the south), and yonder stood twelve buckskins all abreast with horns upon their heads and manes that lived and grew like trees and grasses.

And when I had seen all these, the bay horse said: "Your Grandfathers are having a council. These shall take you; so have courage."    Black Elk

THE TRUE PEACE
The first peace, which is the most important,
is that which comes within the souls of people
when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center  of the universe dwells Wakan-Taka (the Great Spirit).
And that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this.
The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations.
But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is known that true peace, which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men.

Is Anybody Listening?

"All sound requires patience; not just the ability to hear, but the capacity to listen, the awareness of mind to discern a story. A magpie flies toward me and disappears in the oak thicket. He is relentless in his cries. What does he know that I do not? What story is he telling? I love these birds, their long iridescent tail feathers, their undulations in flight. Two more magpies join him. I sit on a flat boulder to rest, pick up two stones and begin striking edges."
